Currently I am a non smoker and have no problem with increasing cigarette taxes. Previously when I was a smoker however obviously I would have been less keen on that type of tax. How to sell it to a smoker? Show that the actual tax revenue goes toward the clean up, prove it. I think there should be more direct links between the tax, its supposed target and the actual spend. I think if we could see the trail we wouldnt mind paying (well wouldnt mind as much)
