True, I don't see how I can get tax returns completely correct. And yes, I agree that the tax code is far too complex and should be simplified. However, these people are RESPONSIBLE FOR the tax code. There is no excuse for them. Daschle helped create the current complexity with legislation. Geithner is now in charge of the department that includes the IRS! Geithner was explicitly told he needed to pay his payroll taxes himself. These people should be experts in finance to hold the positions they do. THe complexity, while it fazes me, shouldn't faze them. And with their political career ambitions, they should be highly motivated to get their returns right. The fact that they can't manage to shows that they are corrupt and selfish. They want higher taxes for the rich, so long as they can manage not to pay their own share.
