The current problems are just more ammunition for the contention that taxes need to be simplified, with a broadenned complex business income tax designed to be completed by professionals and a simplified personal income tax with very few deductions for upper income individuals only (the deductions being an exclusion for income from the sale of assets to a qualified broad based employee stock ownership program and limited foundation giving).
