In a functioning market, the competitor will rejoice, but the ecosystem will suffer. It's like saying Intel would rejoice if AMD fell. Yes, but Oracle, Microsoft, and Symantec would suffer because there will be less purchasers of their wares. To say nothing of the interdependence of the UAW to all of these players. The UAW can't afford to see one of the Big 3 fall, and all 3 will have negative repercussions because of it.
