The Motiva Port Arthur Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, will be expanded significantly in order to double capacity to 600,000 barrels per day, making it the nation's largest oil refinery and one of the largest in the world. An official groundbreaking ceremony will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007. The Motiva Port Arthur Refinery is a joint refining and marketing venture, owned by affiliates of Shell Oil Company and Saudi Aramco.
